India Rejects China’s Renaming of Arunachal: ‘State Was, Is, and Will Remain Ours’

India on Wednesday firmly rejected China’s repeated attempts to rename locations in Arunachal Pradesh, calling the move “creative naming” that has no bearing on reality. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India.

“We reject such attempts categorically,” the MEA said, responding to China’s continued efforts to assert claims over the region by issuing renamed maps. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar earlier remarked, “If I change the name of your house, will it become mine?”

The latest development comes amid ongoing tensions and recent diplomatic engagements following the India-Pakistan conflict and India’s Operation Sindoor.
