Cyberabad Police Clarifies: Mock Drill Will Proceed as Scheduled

The Cyberabad police have issued a clarification regarding the ongoing rumors about the cancellation of the Operation Abhyaas mock drill, confirming that the exercise will proceed as planned at 4:00 PM today. The nationwide drill, aimed at enhancing civil defense preparedness, is set to take place across multiple states, including Hyderabad.

Reports suggesting the cancellation of the exercise are false, stated a press release from the Cyberabad police. The mock drill will simulate an incoming air raid scenario and is part of the government’s initiative to prepare citizens for hostile situations, as mandated by the Civil Defence Act, 1968.

The drill will be conducted within the limits of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and will cover 244 vulnerable districts across the country. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and follow official guidelines during the exercise.

What to Do During the Mock Drill:

  • Seek Shelter Immediately: Move away from open areas and find a sturdy building or underground shelter.
  • Stay Informed: Listen to updates from official sources.
  • Avoid Rumours: Only trust information from verified authorities.
  • Turn Off Utilities: If you’re at home, switch off electrical appliances and gas.
  • Stay Put: Remain in shelter until it is confirmed safe to leave.

The exercise aims to improve public awareness and preparedness, reducing potential risks in the event of an actual emergency
