Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled “Power Sector Reforms 3.0” to revive the state’s debt-ridden power utilities, whose total debt surged to over ₹1.12 lakh crore. The initiative includes appointing experienced professionals from SBI, NTPC, and Indian Railways to key roles, promoting green energy, and improving financial discipline. The government has also begun clearing past dues and is focusing on smart metering, better billing, and reducing power theft to stabilise the sector.
