The Central Government has announced an allocation of ₹9,407 crore to Andhra Pradesh under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana. This scheme is designed to improve the fisheries sector in the state. As part of the project, 14 different types of aqua processing units will be set up. These units will help in processing, storing, and exporting seafood. The government will provide loans with subsidies ranging from 40% to 60% to support these units. Officials say this will create jobs and improve income for fishermen and others working in the aquaculture industry.
