COVID Alert: Surprise Inspection at MGM Hospital, Warangal

With concerns over a possible resurgence of COVID-19, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital in Warangal — a key healthcare hub in North Telangana — is stepping up preparedness. On Saturday, local MLA Naini Rajender Reddy conducted a surprise inspection of the hospital to assess its readiness. He was joined by MLC Baswaraju Saraiah and KUDA Chairman Inugala Venkatrama Reddy.

During the inspection, the team visited emergency wards, diagnostic units, oxygen storage, and the pediatric ICU. The MLA interacted with patients and examined the quality of food served in the diet section. Expressing dissatisfaction over unhygienic conditions and the absence of some medical staff, he directed officials to take immediate corrective action. He emphasized that all staff must act responsibly to restore public confidence in the hospital.

MGM Hospital, affiliated with Kakatiya Medical College, serves as a critical healthcare center for Warangal, Khammam, and Karimnagar districts. Originally established in the 1950s, the hospital played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic and is now being upgraded into a super-specialty facility with state support.
