A 30-year-old Indian-origin man, Sai Chaitanya Reddy Devagiri, residing in the United States, has pleaded guilty to defrauding the food delivery company DoorDash out of $2.5 million (approximately ₹20 crore).

According to court documents, Devagiri created multiple fake accounts to exploit the company’s rewards and referral bonus systems, illegally obtaining large sums over time. His scheme involved manipulating promotional offers and referral programs to earn unmerited incentives.

Federal prosecutors stated that Devagiri has admitted to orchestrating the fraudulent activities and could face up to 20 years in prison under U.S. federal law.

Legal experts and community analysts have called the case a serious setback for the Indian-American community, emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct in professional and digital platforms.
