Nationwide Mock Drills on May 7 Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

As tensions with Pakistan escalate following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced large-scale mock drills across 244 Civil Defence districts on May 7, 2025. The drills aim to assess and strengthen India’s civil defence preparedness in the event of potential hostile threats.

The exercises will include air raid warning sirens, blackout measures, evacuation rehearsals, and coordination with the Indian Air Force through communication links. The MHA has also emphasized training civilians and updating emergency response protocols to ensure readiness amid the evolving security landscape.
