Pakistan Sparks Outrage by Praising 26/11 Mastermind Hafiz Saeed as a ‘Humanitarian Angel’
In a move drawing global condemnation, Pakistan has openly praised Hafiz Saeed — the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and chief of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba — referring to him as a “humanitarian” and a “guardian angel.”
During an all-party meeting held in Islamabad, Pakistani officials reportedly lauded Saeed’s “charitable work” and “public goodwill,” sparking shock and anger in India and abroad. Saeed remains one of India’s most wanted terrorists and the key planner behind the 26/11 attacks that killed 166 people. The incident reinforces Pakistan’s continued patronage of terrorism, further straining ties with New Delhi.
