Satwik and Chirag Honoured with Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award

India’s top men’s badminton doubles pair, R. Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty, were conferred with the prestigious Maj. Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award by Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in Delhi on Thursday. The duo, once ranked World No.1 and winners of the Asian Games gold in Hangzhou, have been a dominant force on the international stage.

Expressing their joy, Chirag called the award “long overdue,” while Satwik said the recognition would boost their morale ahead of future tournaments. Both credited the Indian government’s support through initiatives like Khelo India and TOPS for playing a crucial role in their success journey.
