Tahawwur Rana Extradited to India for 26/11 Trial
Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Pakistani-origin Canadian-American wanted for his role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, has been extradited by the United States. The 64-year-old was handed over to Indian authorities on April 8, 2025, in California and is expected to arrive in India on April 10. Rana faces trial for his involvement in the attacks that killed over 166 people. A special team from India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) accompanied him back to India. The plane carrying Rana is expected to land in New Delhi, where he will be transferred into custody ahead of his trial.
