In a major relief for the global electronics industry, including India, the U.S. government has announced that smartphones and computers will be exempt from the latest import tariffs. The decision means these products will not be affected by the 10% global tariff or the 145% tariff on Chinese goods.
The exemption, which took effect from April 5, also covers other electronics like semiconductors and memory cards. This move is expected to benefit tech companies like Apple and ease global trade tensions.
