The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) successfully conducted a Proof of Concept (PoC) for Aadhaar-based face authentication during the NEET UG 2025 exam in New Delhi. In collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the National Testing Agency (NTA), the initiative aimed to enhance security and candidate verification using biometric technology.
The PoC was tested at select NEET centres in Delhi, where face authentication was carried out in real-time using Aadhaar’s biometric database. The results showed high accuracy and efficiency, highlighting the technology’s potential to reduce impersonation and streamline identity verification for large-scale exams. This move underscores the government’s push to adopt digital solutions for greater transparency and security in public services.
